Alexander Borewko was born in Minsk, Belarus in 1960. In 1982 Borewko successfully accomplished his studies in A. Hiebaw Minsk School of Art Republic Belarus. He studied architecture and was engaged in restoration of Russian works of art from the middle ages. In the late 1990’s he left Belarus and settled in Paris. In Paris, he was inspired by the work of the impressionists. While he stayed in Paris for two years, people start to hear about his talent and invited his to different art exhibitions. In 1992, Alexander immigrated to Israel and kept his unique style by paining in watercolor and oil with rich texture.

His favorite themes are streets of Paris with landscapes and flowers. Borewko was asked once, “Why Paris?” He answered, “Paris is one of the most favorite city in the world. People admire the beauty of Paris, even if they never been there. Perhaps, this is because we have seen this city by the eyes of many artists: Renoir, Monet, Hugo, Proust, Gauguin, Lautrec, and more. Artist’s eye possesses wonderful quality to transform the reality, to penetrate beyond the limits of the ordinary and to revel the difference between real and unreal worlds. I paint only what I see with delicate balance between color, light, subject matter, and composition.”
